Tackling the wide range of inequalities that exist in Wales is one of the most pressing challenges facing policy makers at all levels of government.
Despite sustained efforts to tackle poverty, Wales remains one of the poorest parts of the UK – around 30% of children in Wales live in relative income poverty – and the poorest are the most likely to be affected by multiple forms of disadvantage related to health, education, employment and social exclusion.
We support the Welsh Government, local governments and wider public services in Wales to address social and economic inequalities by providing independent and authoritative evidence and expertise about both the scale and nature of inequalities in Wales, as well as what can be done to tackle them. We also provide evidence to support their aim of ensuring that Wales is inclusive of everyone, regardless of background or protected characteristics.
If you are a policy maker or practitioner in search of evidence to inform your work in relation to tackling inequalities, please email info@wcpp.org.uk to find out how we might be able to help.
